Kiss Of Death

There are many obscure songs or momentarily famous songs. Or there are some songs that you loved and other people have absolutely no idea what you are talking about... It is really a sad situation. You would like to praise the song that you like so much. You would like to say .." Listen how the singer sang with emotions." .. "See the lyrics ..how meaningful they are.." or you might want to say " Do you realize that the guitar solo is so great that it absoultely blew me away.."

Anyway, when you do that (praise the song you liked), more or less you expect people to respond.. Either like .."Yeah , absoultely. That song rock!!" or "Hmm.. I don't think it is that great .. you know, the vocal is kinda weak!" or even negative comments like "I absoultely hate that song .. both melody and lyrics suck!". But I tell you, even those negative comments are better than blank stare and expression you get from people when you mentioned the song !! "Huh??" " What?? I didn't know that song!!" And then, people profusly say "Sorry, dude. That song was before my time." or "Sorry, I never heard of it before." and so and so..

It is really painful. Painful to get comments like those. When you are gushing about how wonderful the song is and some people just replied they had never heard of it!! Oh great. So, it is end of the story. You can't continue praising the song. You can't argue with him/her contrary to what he/she thinks the song rocks. You can say nothing. None. Nada. Period. End. And then, in retrospect, you tried to think, am I that old to remember that song?? Am I that stupid to like that song which the other person never even heard of? Or you give yourselves false optimism like .. "Ha, I'm the truly knowledgable one! I know andappreciate good things when I heard. That other person is absoulte luser!!"

Whatever or however you make yourselves to feel good... after awhile, it all sinks in and you just realize you can't talk about the song anymore..But you still like the song nonetheless.. And you feel weird to like the song where other people never heard of. And then you brand yourselves as "weirdo"..

But world wide web is the good place ... I tell ya.. at least for that kind of "weirdo". There are some sites that devote to the song you like. Or there are some home pages whose web masters are devoted fan of the band/singer of the obscure song you like!! And you are delighted.. You feel power and youth pumping into your vein and you feel alive again. And you feel you are not so weird anyway.. Even though, some of those devoted site last updated date may be 2 or 3 years ago and that sites' web masters have long gone and abdandon their passion and obsession of the band/singer or the song you liked...

But you feel rejuvanted and elated nonetheless.... And you feel overly ecstatic when you got comments or emails from people you don't know or don't even know they exist, send messages to you that they have heard and (better) loved that song too.. And that, my friend, will put a person to over the moon...

And here is one song that l liked and nobody seems to recall ... It is "Kiss Of Death" by "L.A Guns"
Even when I read the lyrics, I can hear the melody. Even when I read the lyrics, I can hear the vocals and the emotions the singer has put into the song ... If you ever heard of it, just let me know ...
